Environmental Scientist

Position Summary:

Environmental Scientist is needed to perform the following duties: 

  • Analyze and interpret analytical results and assist with the preparation of site assessment reports under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager.
  • Conduct field mapping and map preparation and maintain spreadsheets/database of chemical results and other data for projects, prepare charts, geological boring logs, and conduct routine scientific calculations.
  • Prepare New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection forms, including individual reports, Receptor Evaluations (RE), Public Notification, Full Laboratory Data Deliverables, Well Searches, Biennial Certification, Soil and Groundwater Permits, Classification Exception Area / Well Restriction Area (CEA/WRA) Fact Sheet, and Deed Notices.
  • Assist Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) in preparing construction sustainability data collection reports, Remedial Investigation, Remedial Action Reports, and documentation in accordance with the New Jersey regulations and guidance documents.
  • Assist in developing draft proposal and cost estimate sheet as directed by Senior Project Manager.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, clients and generate weekly project updates
  • Prepare and provide oversight for constraints mapping and technical reports using spatial and statistical analysis tools, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Surfer® that includes plotting:

o   Land use and surrounding properties use mapping;

o   Contamination of concentration area mapping;

o   Concentration trend mapping for the contaminants;

o   Sample locations;

o   Monitoring well Locations;

o   Area of Concerns; and

o   Groundwater flow direction.

Perform a variety of field work including oversight for drilling operations for soil boring and monitoring well installation, soil and groundwater sampling, soil vapor and indoor air sampling, waste management and disposal, oversight of remedial investigation and remedial action activities, overseeing underground storage tank removal, and community air monitoring,

Bachelor’s Degree is required in  Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Technology and Sustainability, Geological Sciences, or Geology 

NYC Lead Assessor/Project Manager

Position:
NYC Lead Assessor/Project Manager

Position Type and Location:
Full-Time Hybrid/Remote
Most of the work will be performed in New York City, but infrequent trips to the corporate office in Lake Hopatcong, NJ will be required.

Company Overview:
Enviro-Sciences of Delaware, Inc. (ESI) is an established environmental consulting firm in business over 50 years. We specialize in environmental management and site remediation, and we are seeking a motivated Lead Assessment Project Manager to join our growing team.

Position Description:
We are seeking a full-time Project Manager to be responsible for Lead and other Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) projects.

The successful candidate will manage Lead (and potentially other IAQ) projects in the New York City Area.

As a project manager you will be responsible for coordination, field investigation, sampling and reporting. The ideal candidate will be able to complete projects with Lead Inspections, HUD Lead XRF Testing, and other appropriate sampling and assessment techniques.

Current and relevant experience in NYC environmental/industrial hygiene field required.

Salary Range:
Negotiable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing project specifications and drawings
  • Conducting site surveys
  • Collecting bulk samples
  • Compiling information gathered during field inspections into comprehensive reports of findings
  • Be dependable and able to work independently
  • Have experience working with NYC agencies
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations pertaining to lead and water quality inspection and management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Possess initiative to problem solve

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years experience in conducting hazardous building material surveys
  • Proven experience in Lead Paint inspection using XRF testers.
  • USEPA Lead-Based Paint Risk Assessor Certification
  • Adept with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • AS or BS in industrial hygiene, environmental science or related science/engineering fields

 

Additional Optional Qualifications:

  • NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector License
  • NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator Certification
  • NYSDOL Mold Assessor Certification
  • NYC Site Safety Training (SST) Card – 40 Hours
  • Knowledge of Local Law 1 of 2004 and HUD Guidelines
  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
